Finally, here's my long overdue report of Further Confusion 2010! It was such an awesome con and I hope you enjoy reading through my memories. (If I say we, it most likely means Henrieke and me)
In the morning we still were at Jimmy and Croc's place. We got all our stuff packed up, and since I really wanted to see it, Jimmy took us to the Computer History Museum. (Thanks so much for that and being the best host ever, also Croc). As soon as we were done, Jimmy picked us up again and took us to the Fairmont. Unlike the Doubletree, the Fairmont is located in downtown, so it took a bit longer to get there. When we arrived, we felt very misplaced. It looked more like a palace than a hotel, and we were some of the first to arrive there.
At the check-in counter we got informed that we don't have a fursuit floor room despite our confirmation. The lady at the counter was very nice though and had no idea what was about to happen the next few days. ;) We met Tahoe in the lobby which is always a good thing. Even though our room was in the 8th floor, it wasn't as bad at all since our room was really big and we had two giant windows giving us a beautiful view over San Jose.
Afterwards we went to Walgreens to get some Nutella and bread and then had dinner at Pita Pit with Tahoe. Then we spent some time in the Lounge at a table with BBF, Tani, Nightfox, Emejn, Duco, Deezlberries, Loewi and other people. BBF filmed and Emejn was being funny as always. Since there were hardly any people suiting at that time, we were asked to get Tyler and Kiki downstairs, so we did that. Tyler and Kiki had some fun in the lobby with a giant balloon and another critter called Vitamin C. Later in the evening at 23:00 ZotCoon and Margo arrived and we gave them a place in our room since our other roomates didn't arrive until the next day anyway. Tahoe joined us in our room as well and had some awesome presents for Henrieke (Disney LPs).
We got up at 8:30 and had some sandwich with Nutella, talked with ZotCoon and Margo. The hotel breakfast was no option since even a hot chocolate cost 10$. We met Kipper, Goldie and FerretParade in the registration line. Not too long after that, we came to meet Poncho, he looked so cute and amazing!
Finally we got to meet Blaez, and we were trying to go to Baja Fresh for lunch. The problem was though that there were new people arriving all the time so making our way to the exit took us about an hour. We met Balaa, WickedSairah, BaconCoyote, Hedgish, DrakeDuck and PokitFox in the line at the check-in counter.
The food at Baja Fresh was really nice, only Henrieke – who can't handle anything spicy at all – thought the jalapeno was a pickle. Fun!
Back in the Lobby we met Matrices and Diadexxus, then Blaez invited us to his room and we checked out his suits and watched "Something, Something Dark Side" with Tally. We went to the registration then, and it took only 5 minutes. We met Media (who we also never met in real life before) and went suiting with him as Spook and Tally as Binx. There were some cute kids near the bridge to the South Tower who we interacted with. We also got to meet JD, yay. After suiting we went to Safeway at 21:20 and hurried since I didn't want to miss Croc's dance. We were really hungry, so we ended up getting a cheese pizza which was really disgusting, also some milk and fruits. Then I went downstairs to Croc's fabulous dance! The setup there sadly didn't do the music justice but still it was awsome.
I met Soundhound downstairs who just arrived and Henrieke took care of her while I danced/hung out with BaconCoyote and FawksBeaumont. Media told me that Chorca was arriving, so I went to Blaez' room and met Media, Sophie and Ras, saw the new rhino suit (Notch) and Chorca's big-ass camera. Since Tyler loves Croc's dances too, I got him downstairs and got to meet C_Eagle, Snit Otter and Emejn's new otter on the way.
Later I de-suited and went downstairs again, however I found nobody except BBF and FawksBeaumont who went to bed, so I did too.
We got up, had breakfast, then went to see Michael Fry and Thomas Lewis at the Kaffeeklatch. Met Frysco, Loran and Doodles while we were trying to find out where it was located. It was pretty interesting there, just some of the other people there were weird. Then we went to artshow and Dealers Den. We met people like Brian, Tracy, Sophie and many other amazing artists!
Also Flinters gave me a HP620lx (thanks again) and we met Eric Goldberg's niece again. We looked for someone to have lunch with at like 15:00 and ended up going to Johnny Rocket's with Rennie and had an awesome burger, fries and onion rings.
Henrieke suited as Kiki and went to the Dealers Den and showed off (her butt) and met Poncho and AuraFox there. Also Chorca took photos at 8 fps.
All of the suited more in the upper Level, I wanted to join with Ciro but then Chorca and his roommates went for dinner so Henrieke un-suited. I went down again and ended watching the fursuit dance compo, where I sat with Yagfox, Lothrek, Duco and Yarwick and watched Spook (awesome moves but meh music) and Pepper Pup (awesome moves and awesome music). Then went to Walgreens with Henrieke to get more milk and a refill for her prepaid phone. At the way back Chorca texted that he was ready for some fursuiting fun. Yeah! I bugged Chorca forever to let me wear Ciro, eventually he said yes, so we went down suiting (me as Ciro, Chorca as Tyler, Spook and Zot). SUPER AWESOME!
I wore the orange bandana Yippee gave me earlier that day, which confused him since he didn't realize who was who. We had tons of fun in the lobby with Twilight, also BBF was filming us and we were dancing to the awesome Band music.
Henrieke left in order to go to the Sofawolf party later. We all went up to Blaez' room again where we watched tons of YouTube videos and listened to the Goofy Movie soundtrack and other Disney music (and everybody sang along). Went down again later for the fursuit dance which was fun, but we didn't stay too long. I got to our room again and got out of suit, I went to the Sofawolf party but it was over already, and Henrieke was in our room. We ended up hanging out in the lobby a bit with Bacon, Theome, Zot and Yippee.
Got up at 10:00, had breakfast, went to Dealers Den and ordered Eric Goldberg books. We saw Croc's suit on Twitter so we went to his room to see it (we're creepy fanboys).
Then we went to the fursuit parade with our roommates and waited for like an hour. While waiting, Tyler got to meet one of the two other Thylacines in the fandom, Serpy.
After surviving the parade and doing the group shot we stalked Croc a bit because he's so awesome. Went to room again and had lunch with Patches, Henrieke and Chorca at Johnny Rocket's. We ate in our room and watched TV. Went down again in order to art jam and tried to find Michael Fry and Thomas Lewis. We found out that they held a panel that was rescheduled from Sunday to today at 17:00. We arrived at 17:25 and Thomas Lewis had to leave earlier. We wandered around afterwards, met Gene Catlow and C_Eagle. Also Brian Reynolds who invited us to join him for dinner with Tracy, Cooner and 2 other guys. We went to an Italian place and I had caesar salad with Henrieke. We talked about space shuttles and had a good time. The restaurant was at the same place we watched princess and the frog at a few days earlier. Went back to the hotel and met ZotCoon, Trigger and Duncan. I drew a quick sketch for Duncan. Then we went to the mustelid party. At first only Duco, Emejn, Jesper, I and Henrieke were there. Later Kipper, Goldie, ZotCoon, AuraFox, PokitFox, the Brits, Spain, Ras, Tahoe, GatCat and his girlfriend (talked about thylacines with her) and others were there too. It got pretty full. I got sketches from C_Eagle, Gene Catlow, Emejn, Duco, Kipper and Hawthorn. I drew drunk ballpoint sketches for lots of people. Also a conbook sketch for AuraFox. Tahoe wore Sparky (awesome). The party was pretty awesome and the view from the 19th floor was fabulous!
I went to bed at 2:40
We got up at 9:30 and hurried downstairs to meet Michael Fry and Thomas Lewis. Michael Fry left already, but Thomas Lewis thought of us and already drew us a sketch in advance, that was so awesome! When we told him we live in different countries, he even drew another sketch for each of us. Then we went to Dealers Den, met Jimmy and Doodles. Also RedXIX, the awesome guy who built Kootenay. Then I met Alexandra, a friend from Austria who jad moved to the U.S. about 2 years ago. She was leaving already but it was really nice to see her again! We had lunch with Kipper, Goldie, AuraFox and FerretParade. First we ended up in a super-loud sportsbar, but then found a really good Chicago-style pizza place.
We had a great art jam there, drew stuff in each others sketchbooks and got to relax a bit. Also we called Louve. We went to the Dealers Den again and saw Trigger and Media dressed up as CATS which was highly disturbing but also hilarious.
I found Ciro though and we went to Johnny Rocket's. Henrieke took awesome photos, also we interacted with nonfurries.
Henrieke went to the room to draw while Tyler and Chorca were still downstairs. We eventually went to the room again, ate some pizza leftovers and looked at photos. Then Henrieke and I went to Chuck-E-Cheese with Vinci, Tally, Soundhound, Gavyn, Artie and Mike. The girls got photos with Chuck-E and I was just shaking my head. Also we had a nice art jam there.
We got back and sat in the lobby and art-jammed with Kipper, Goldie, Chad Krueger (who's amazing!), FerretParade, AuraFox, etc.. Chorca came and took photos, I drew him a pic of Tyler and Ciro. We also did some PARKOUR in the lobby. Henrieke did lots of trades and gift art, later she got to suit as Tyler. Ciro was there too!
Ciro and Tyler went to the upper floor where the awesome dance was going on, I danced a bit but it ended very soon after that. We met Media/Spook in the fursuit lounge again and did PARKOUR. Also we met Matrices and Blondefoxy. Went to the lobby again where we picked up an awesome drawing Chad drew for him and drew him a duck in return and we went up to the room, with hardly anyone left in the lobby (Kipper, Chad, BBF, etc..). We discussed internet cartoons in bed and then passed out.
We got up at 9:30 and packed until 12:00. Went down to the lobby and checked out. Sat down in the lobby with Duco and Kipper. We said goodbye to Jimmy, Sophie, Raspberry and Chorca. It was less painful to say good-bye to the Florida people since we would see them again 2 weeks later! We went to Johnny Rocket's and had lunch with Raithel and other guy (sorry I forgot your name!!). We left at about 14:30 and saw a beautiful California landscape. It was really depressing though.
